These drones provide extended flight time and can be paired with the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise for independent operation. Each model is equipped with a wide-angle camera, a medium telephoto camera, a telephoto camera, and a Laser Range Finder. The Matrice 4D excels in professional high-precision mapping and detailed surface inspections. Meanwhile, the Matrice 4TD features an infrared thermal camera and a new NIR auxiliary light, making it ideal for various applications, including infrastructure inspections, emergency response, and public safety.
Extended Flight Duration, Superior Protection
When fully charged, the Matrice 4D/4TD boasts an impressive flight time of 47 minutes at a speed of 15 m/s, representing a significant 37% increase in operational time. At a radius of 10 km, these drones can operate for 18 minutes. Both models are built to withstand challenging environments, featuring an outstanding IP55 rating for dust and water resistance.
Obstacle Detection for Safe Functionality
The Obstacle Sensing Module designed for the Matrice 4D/4TD integrates rotating LiDAR and millimeter-wave radar technologies, enabling accurate obstacle avoidance at a 12mm wire-level while maintaining speeds of up to 15 m/s in intricate power line crossings. Additionally, it offers improved positioning in low-light environments. This ensures operational safety across various scenarios.
Excels in Low-Light Conditions
The Matrice 4D Series drones are equipped with four high-resolution, low-light fisheye lenses, greatly improving visual low-light positioning and obstacle detection capabilities. With the introduction of the Night Scene mode, users can now enjoy full-color night vision. The Matrice 4TD also features an IR-Cut Filter for black-and-white night vision, enabling 24/7 operations, along with a new NIR auxiliary light that illuminates distances up to 100 meters.
Additionally, the Matrice 4TD’s infrared thermal camera offers support for the UHR Infrared Image mode, delivering image resolutions of up to 1280 × 1024, as well as a High-Res mode for precise temperature readings.
Clear Vision and Stable Imagery
The Matrice 4D Series drones come equipped with medium telephoto and tele cameras that feature foreground stabilization. The medium telephoto camera is ideal for medium-range inspections, capable of detecting pins and cracks from a distance of 10 meters, and it provides clear readings of instrument data at substations.
The 48 MP telephoto camera excels in capturing details, such as signs, from distances of up to 250 meters. When the Matrice 4TD’s telephoto camera is used while the aircraft is hovering in a calm environment, the gimbal can tilt upward by 80 degrees, allowing for a clear view of defects on bridge undersides.
Enhanced stabilization ensures that foreground subjects remain sharp during telephoto shots at 10x zoom or greater.
High-Precision Surveying
The Matrice 4D Series drones are outstanding in high-precision mapping, featuring an innovative 5-direction oblique photography capability, 3-direction orthophoto photography, and real-time terrain following to address diverse mapping needs.
DJI FlightHub 2 has been enhanced for Matrice 4D/4TD operations. This upgrade provides various flight route planning options, such as Smart 3D Capture routes, geometric routes, and slope routes, improving efficiency while ensuring comprehensive modeling.
Seamless Airborne Relay for Mountainous Environments
The Matrice 4D Series is compatible with the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise remote controller for independent operation, while also incorporating an innovative onboard relay feature. This configuration allows one drone to ascend as a relay, enabling another drone to function over a longer distance. The relay drone automatically orients itself towards the active drone, ensuring uninterrupted video transmission even without a 4G signal or in challenging conditions. This functionality greatly enhances the transmission range, making it perfect for search and rescue operations and inspections in rugged terrains.
